The Dara Shikoh Fellowship is an immersive fifteen-day residency that gives Fellows access to a wide
range of resources to pursue independent projects within the social, literary, or creative arts in
Jammu and Kashmir. The deadline for submitting applications to the Fellowship is 31st January, 2018. The theme for 2018 is Reframing Ladakh, with a special focus on situating Ladakh within a broader Central Asian context and examining its cultural exchanges with the region at large.
Applications consist of a statement of purpose that will be reviewed by a panel comprising of academics, artists, authors and intellectuals. Shortlisted applicants will receive an interview, which will help the panel choose the two fellows for the current cycle.
The Fellowship is open to undergraduate and graduate students with a keen interest in exploring the social and cultural dynamics of the region. Applications are open to all, irrespective of age, region, or nationality. The Fellowship will take place in August, and selected applicants will be required to make their travel arrangements to Ladakh independently.
